For Delaware License Holders: Your Compact Privileges

Delaware became a compact state on July 1, 2021, and the implementation has been fully operational for over four years. If Delaware is your primary state of residence and you hold an active Delaware RN or LPN license, you hold a multistate compact license — or can apply for one if your license predates the compact upgrade. Your Delaware compact license is valid in all 40+ NLC member states without separate endorsement applications for each state. This includes Texas, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona, and every other NLC member state. Verify your multistate status at nursys.com — your license record should show "Multistate" under privileges. If it shows "Single State," contact the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation to request a compact upgrade; this typically requires updated background check clearance. The compact privilege is tied to your primary state of residence: if you relocate out of Delaware, transfer your primary license to your new home state to preserve your compact privileges.
