Welcome to The Nursing Directory ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using thenursingdirectory.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site.

1. About This Site

The Nursing Directory is a free educational resource built and maintained by Jayson Minagawa, BSN, RN, a practicing registered nurse with over 12 years of clinical experience across ICU/critical care, inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health, correctional nursing, telehealth, and multi-state travel nursing. The Site publishes free calculators, guides, tools, and reference materials for nurses, nursing students, and nursing professionals.

We do not charge for access. We do not require account registration to use the calculators, tools, or guides. Some pages may contain affiliate links or display advertising — see our disclosure page for details.

2. Educational Use Only — Not Professional Advice

Nothing on this Site establishes a nurse-patient, attorney-client, CPA-client, financial-advisor-client, or any other professional-client relationship between you and Jayson Minagawa, BSN, RN, or between you and The Nursing Directory. Content is presented in good faith and based on publicly available data sources (BLS, IRS, DOL, GSA, NCSBN, CMS, peer-reviewed literature) and on the author's direct clinical experience, but it is not a substitute for individualized professional guidance.

You must verify everything before acting on it.

Before making any employment, contract, tax, clinical, financial, or licensing decision based on information from this Site, you are required to verify the relevant information with:

• Your facility's Human Resources department for employment and compensation matters
• A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for tax matters — especially for travel nursing tax-home determinations
• A licensed employment attorney for wage, hour, and overtime disputes

3. Use of the Site

You agree to use The Nursing Directory only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Scrape, spider, or mass-download Site content outside of normal browsing, search-engine indexing, or the terms allowed in our robots.txt file
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any calculator, tool, or widget for redistribution or commercial use
• Use the Site in any way that violates U.S. federal, state, or local law, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy regulations
• Enter real, identifiable patient information into any calculator, quiz, tool, or form on the Site — all tools are designed for anonymized, educational use only
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, any related systems, or any data not made publicly available
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt or damage the Site or its users
• Impersonate The Nursing Directory, Jayson Minagawa, or any other person or entity

4. Intellectual Property

All original content on the Site — including text, calculator logic, guides, quizzes, design, graphics, and code — is owned by The Nursing Directory and Jayson Minagawa, BSN, RN, and is protected by U.S. copyright law. You may read, share, and link to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute our content in whole or substantial part without written permission.

5. Third-Party Links and Advertising

We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or the products or services they offer.

Calculator outputs are estimates based on publicly available data and user-supplied inputs; we make no warranty that any calculator output will match your actual paycheck, tax liability, employer benefits, or licensure requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall The Nursing Directory, Jayson Minagawa, or any contributors, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to lost wages, lost profits, tax penalties, licensure issues, clinical outcomes, or data loss, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site or any content, calculator, or tool on the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Site exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100.00), or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater. If you live in a jurisdiction that does not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Site owner resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the federal or state courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
